but what if it is our own making? As in, we are responsible for our own demise? would that make a difference?

MightyMouse said...: I'm no "enlightened being" but just to share my interpretation. I think what the quote means is that we tend to dwell on the situation and the "me, me, me". An eg would be that someone sticken with cancer could end up very depressed and inward-looking. He can turn the situation around, maybe by sharing his experience with other people suffering from the same illness (how he manages the illness, treatments that have been effective/beneficial, things to look out for,...etc). When he chooses to help others, he too will find support and learn more. So in life, perspective is very impt.; 28/9/06 2:24 pm
